Overnight Fire Destroys St. Paul Home

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A St. Paul home was destroyed in fire early Tuesday morning.

According to the St. Paul Fire Department, around 2 a.m. officers received a call of a fully-engulfed home on the 500 block of McKnight Road.

Upon arrival, firefighters learned a man in the home woke up to his smoke alarm going off. He got out safely, but the roof collapsed soon after.

Around 4 a.m., crews said the fire was mostly out but they were still working on some hot spots.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The home is a total loss.

Meanwhile, in Golden Valley firefighters were called to a house fire on Dakota Avenue around 2:20 a.m.

Police said the people who live there made it out fine. They said the fire was in the garage attic and there was very little smoke in the house.
