St. Paul Fire Department Investigating After Overnight Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) –Fire officials are investigating after an a fire broke out in a St. Paul home early Monday morning.

According to officials, the St. Paul Fire Department received a call around 1:15 a.m. of a house fire in the 300 block of King Street West.

Upon investigation, crews believe the fire started from a bucket used to discard cigarettes on the porch.

The fire then spread into the home, burning the front two rooms of the house and the attic.

Six people live in the house, but only five were home at the time.

One person that lived there noticed the fire and was able to help get everyone out safely.

Volunteers from the American Red Cross are helping the victims of the fire by offering food, clothing and lodging.

The incident is currently under investigation.
