St. Paul Police: Man Found Dead Near State Capitol

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A death investigation is underway in St. Paul Saturday evening.

Officers responded to the 200 block of Aurora Avenue around 4 p.m. At the scene they found a man with an apparent gunshot wound. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

No arrests have been made, but police said they do not believe the shooting was random.

This was the 13th homicide in St. Paul this year, according to police.

The victim's identity has not been released. The incident is under investigation.

A fatal shooting occurred in the same area earlier this year. Tyrese Santell Borney, 36, was found dead on the same block on April 15. Police said they do not believe the shootings are related.
