Officers stopped a car fitting the description of the one involved.

Inside they found two handguns, as well as a suspected pipe bomb in the trunk.

Two men -- 40-year-old Monttraill Claiborne and 38-year-old Fredric Pitman -- were taken into custody and booked into Ramsey County Jail. They will likely be charged each with possession of an explosive device, possession of a stolen firearm and being felons in possession of firearms.

Several homes in the area were evacuated after the discovery.

The bomb squad took possession of the device and will determine if it is indeed a bomb.
