St. Joseph Police: Toddler Injured After Falling From 3rd Story Window

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- St. Joseph police say a toddler fractured his jaw when he fell from a third-story window Monday afternoon.

At 5:50 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to the 400 block of 1st Avenue Northeast in St. Joseph on the report of a one-and-a-half-year-old child who fell from a third-floor window.

Police say that the child had been in his room to take a nap, but ended up crawling up to the window, sliding it open and pushing the screen out.

The parents ended up seeing the child on the ground. The parents had a passerby call 911 while they were attending to the child.

When responders arrived, the child was crying and responsive. He was then taken to the St. Cloud Hospital. He is reported to have only a fractured jaw and has been moved out of intensive care.
