Sheriff: 1 Dead, 7 Injured In Wis. Head-On Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- One person is dead and seven others are injured after a head-on crash Saturday morning in St. Croix County, Wisconsin.

The crash happened on the 3000 block of State Highway 64 in Forest Township at about 11 a.m., according to the sheriff's office.

A 2010 Ford Fusion crossed the center of the highway and struck a Ford F-150 head-on. The driver of the fusion, 59-year-old Ellen Gordon, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the Fusion was flown by helicopter to the hospital with injuries. The driver and five passengers in the truck were also hospitalized. Three of the passengers were not wearing seatbelts, according to the sheriff's office. The extent of the injuries is unknown.

STH 64 was closed at STH 128 and 310th Street for about four hours as the scene was investigated.
