St. Cloud Police Investigate Attempted Luring Of 9-Year-Old

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- St. Cloud police are on the lookout after someone allegedly approached a 9-year-old girl Friday afternoon.

The police report says that the girl was near the intersection of 33rd Avenue North and 10th Street North around 3 p.m. She was walking home from Madison Elementary School.

Authorities say a vehicle approached the girl and the driver -- described as an adult male with a Mohawk hairstyle -- asked the girl if she wanted some candy and a ride in the car.

The girl told police that she ran toward her friends and the driver left the scene. She said there was also one other male in the vehicle.

Police didn't report a make or model for the vehicle. They said they believed it was an older, rusty vehicle possibly grey in color.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact St. Cloud police at 320-251-1200.
