MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Thousands of motorcyclists were out to kick off the unofficial start of Minnesota's riding season on Saturday.

The Spring Flood Run takes riders along the scenic Mississippi and St. Croix Valley between the Twin Cities and Winona.

DPS also said people in other vehicles need to be alert, checking their blind spots and giving riders space.
