Spirit Mountain Closed Sunday Due To Extreme Temps

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Spirit Mountain announced they will be closed Sunday due to the extreme temperatures expected.

According to Spirit Mountain officials, the Duluth ski destination will be closed on Jan. 4 due to "incoming extremely low temperatures and intense chill factors."

Officials said this includes all ski hill and Adventure Park operations.

Other ski areas taking precautions are Trollhaugen and Lutsen Moutnains.  Trollhaugen will close the lifts at 4 p.m. due to the cold, and Lutsen may open late depending on morning conditions.

Buck Hill, Afton Alps, Welch Village, Wild Mountain, Mount Kato and Hyland Ski and Snowboarding Area will be open during their regularly scheduled business hours.
