Southern Minnesota May Get Dusting From Midwest Snow Storm

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One of the first major snowstorms of the season is expected to hit the Midwest beginning Friday. But this time, it's going to miss Minnesota.

Well, most of Minnesota.

The storm is projected to head south of the border, dumping 4 – 6 inches of snow in Iowa.

Parts of southern Minnesota, as far up as Slayton and Marshall, may see some flurries but won't amount to much.

No measurable snow is expected in the metro, though the south metro may see some flakes in the air. Central and northern Minnesota aren't expected to see any either, getting the bulk of their precipitation Thursday.

Temperatures continue to dip below average, with highs in the 30s for both Saturday and Sunday.

The good news is the winds have died down and the weekend will be sunny!
