New Brighton Bakery Recalling 873 Pounds Of Products

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A New Brighton bakery is recalling some of its food products due to lack of inspection and misbranding.

Solomon Snacks and Bakery is recalling about 873 pounds of meat pie products that were not federally inspected, were misbranded and contained undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Saturday.

The recalled products, which include 5-ounce beef, chicken and turkey meat pies, were produced between February and May of 2016.

Unlabeled Styrofoam boxes lined with wax paper containing the meat pies were also recalled.

The meat pies do not have the USDA mark of inspection and were shipped to stores in Illinois and Minnesota. The pies contain eggs, milk and wheat, known allergens which are not declared on the product label.

The Food and Drug Administration discovered the problem and notified FSIS.

No one has reported adverse reactions from eating these products. Anyone who has purchased the recalled products should dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase.
