'Slenderman' Stabbing Suspect Denied Move To Mental Health Facility

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- There is a setback for one of the two Wisconsin girls accused of stabbing their friend 19 times.

Morgan Geyser appeared by video from the Washington County Juvenile Detention Facility Friday during a court hearing.

Along with friend Anissa Weier, they face charges of trying to kill their friend to impress the fictional character Slenderman.

Geyser's lawyer was asking for her to be moved to a mental health facility.

"Frankly, the difference between the Washington County Juvenile Jail or detention center and any mental health treatment facility is stark," attorney Anthony Cotton said.

But the judge agreed with the prosecutor who said she's too dangerous and could escape. A motion to lower her bail was also denied.

Geyser's lawyer says he'll keep looking for ways to get her mental treatment.

A hearing for Anissa Weier is scheduled for late May.
