Silver Bay Council Bans Bent Paddle Beer From Municipal Liquor Store

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Silver Bay city council voted last week to remove Bent Paddle Brewing beer from the city's municipal liquor store.

The city administrator confirmed that the vote took place Monday, March 7 and the council voted 3-2 in favor of removing the beer.

According to the Duluth News Tribune, the move is a response to the brewery's involvement in the Downstream Business Coalition, which is a group of 70 small businesses that oppose the proposed PolyMet NorthMet copper-nickel mine and others like it.

The store will be selling the remaining supply and will not order any more.
