Sid Hartman Honored At U.S. Bank Stadium

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Sid Hartman, who's close and personal friends with many Vikings players, will have a very special honor at their new stadium.

The 96-year-old got a private tour this week. He's covered the Vikings for the Star Tribune since the team came here in 1961.

To celebrate his career, the Vikings have etched his name on the door to the media entrance of the building.

There will also be two murals showing the famous sports writer through the decades. One is a mosaic of Sid at his other job as a 830 WCCO Radio commentator.

U.S. Bank Stadium opens next month with the first events scheduled in August.
