Shots Fired, Squad Car Damaged In St. Paul Chase

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) - Woodbury Police pursued a burglary suspect through St. Paul late Wednesday afternoon, with the chase ending in a car crash.

The pursuit started at 4:15 p.m. in St. Paul, when the suspect in a Woodbury burglary case fled from officers in a vehicle, according to police.

Officers followed the suspect, who eventually struck a squad car near East Ames Place and White Bear Avenue.

A Woodbury officer discharged a firearm at some point during the incident, but the number of rounds fired is unknown at this time.

No one was injured during the chase or the shooting.

The suspect is currently in the custody of St. Paul Police, who have taken over the investigation.
