Sheriff: Woman Found In Pine Lake Was Intoxicated

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's office has determined that a woman found dead in Pine Lake early Sunday morning had a blood-alcohol level that was more than two-and-a-half times the legal limit.

Police responded to a report of a one-car crash in Hammond Township near Pine Lake just after 5 a.m., but found the car unoccupied at the scene.

After an extensive search conducted by several agencies, the crews found Kristelle Marie Wolle dead in the water.

The medical examiner's office ruled the death as a fresh-water drowning, and said Wolle had a blood-alcohol level of .216.

Police say Wolle had been out with friends on Saturday night, and was last seen Sunday morning at 2:19 a.m. in the Village of Baldwin.

The case is still under investigation by the St. Croix Sheriff's Department.
