Sheriff: Stearns Co. Man Dies Day After Motorcycle Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The St. Joseph man injured after his motorcycle made contact with another biker Saturday night has died, according to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office.

Michael Lodermeier, 56, died from severe head trauma suffered in the accident.

Investigators say Lodermeier and four others were riding motorcycles northbound on County State Aid Highway 14 in Darwin Township on the early evening of Sept. 3.

Lodermeier's Harley Davidson made contact at some point with a motorcycle driven by 54-year-old John Nelson and crashed.

Nelson, from Garfield, was not injured, and his motorcycle only sustained minor damage.

Lodermeier was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital, where he died several days later.
