Sheriff: St. Cloud Woman Arrested In KY, Charged With Dad's Murder

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 38-year-old St. Cloud woman is in custody and charged with her father's murder.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says Lisa May Kearney was arrested in Louisville, Kentucky, and was charged Wednesday with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Jeffrey Eugene Schilling.

The victim was found dead Monday in his St. Cloud residence, where he lived with Kearney, but investigators believe he was killed sometime on Jan. 1 or Jan. 2.

Investigators say Schilling died after being struck on the head with a splitting maul, which was found near his body.

The neighbor who discovered him said he was on a couch with a blanket over his head.

Kearney was found with some of her father's possessions, including his wallet and tablet computer.

She made her first court appearance Wednesday in Kentucky, where her bail was set at $250,000.

She will be likely extradited back to Minnesota in the next couple months.
