Sheriff: Motorcyclist Dead After Hitting Golf Cart In Wright County

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 51-year-old Buffalo man was killed Saturday after a motorcycle collided with a golf cart northwest of the Twin Cities, according to the Wright County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities were called at about 3:39 p.m. to the 17000 block of 46th Street in French Lake Township on a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a golf cart. When officers arrived, the accident had happened in the southbound lane, and both drivers were separated from their vehicles as a result of the crash.

The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the golf cart, 39-year-old Korie Schiel of Chaska, was treated at the scene for minor injuries and released. The Wright County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Eric Lefebvre of Buffalo. Authorities said he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

What led up to the crash is still under investigation, and the name of the victim has not been released. The Wright County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by South Haven Fire and Rescue, Allina Ambulance, North Memorial Aircare and the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office.
