Sheriff: Missing Man Found Dead In Grain Bin

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A man thought to have been missing in western Minnesota was found dead Monday in a grain bin, according to the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities were called at about 4:40 p.m. to the 3100 block of 480th Street in Yellow Medicine County on a report of a missing person. An adult male was believed to be in a grain bin that was in the process of being emptied.

When authorities arrived, individuals working with the man said he had been in and out of the bin when they started to empty it and he was last seen at about 2 p.m. The workers thought he had left with his wife, but when she got back they realized he hadn't and they immediately started a search.

More than six hours after the search started, rescue personnel found a 77-year-old man inside the grain bin. He was pronounced dead at the scene and has been identified as Richard Rosetter.

The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Montevideo Fire Department, Clarkfield Fire and Ambluance, and the Yellow Medicine County Rescue Team.
