Sheriff: Man Injured In Police Shooting In Eden Prairie

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Hennepin County Sheriff's office says a motorcyclist who fled Eden Prairie police was injured when an officer's weapon discharged Saturday morning.

Police were in a brief pursuit with a man at about 3 a.m., which ended at Eden Prairie Road and South Lund Road.

According to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, the officer apparently fired his gun and the motorcyclist sustained an arm injury. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The sheriff's office is investigating into whether the discharge was accidental.
