Sheriff: Man, 22, Drowns In Lake Phalen

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities said a 22-year-old St. Paul man is dead after drowning in Lake Phalen Saturday night.

The Ramsey County Sheriff's Office was called to Lake Phalen at about 8 p.m. Saturday after a person swimming in the lake saw the man go under under, but never resurfaced. Officers responded to the 1400 block of Phalen Drive and when emergency personnel arrived, a search and rescue team immediately put boats in the water to search for the man.

At about 8:50 p.m., authorities pulled the body from the lake. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Roger Valle. Authorities said Valle was out with family at the time of the accident.

The incident is still under investigation.
