Motorcyclist Killed In Crash With Flatbed Pickup Truck In East Bethel

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A fatal crash Wednesday morning has left part of Highway 65 in the north metro closed.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened at the intersection of Viking Boulevard in East Bethel at about 11:15 a.m.

Authorities report that two vehicles were involved in the crash -- a commercial flatbed pickup truck and a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was ejected, and was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver was not immediately identified, pending a report from the medical examiner's office.

The highway's southbound lanes in the area were closed following the crash.

The truck driver, a 65-year-old man from Zimmerman, was working with investigators. Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash.
