Benton County Sheriff: Driver, 74, Killed After Crashing Into Tree

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 74-year-old Royalton woman is dead after crashing her vehicle into a tree in Benton County Tuesday afternoon, according to the Benton County Sheriff's Office.

When Benton County deputies responded to the crash on the 6000 block of Canary Road Northwest, they found that the victim, Patricia Palmer, had left the roadway and struck a tree.

Palmer was found unresponsive and despite efforts to revive her, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are now investigating the accident.
