Sheriff: 2 Dead In Western Minnesota Murder-Suicide

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two people were found dead in a western Minnesota home Wednesday morning, the result of a murder-suicide, according to the Lac qui Parle County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities were called at about 8 a.m. to do a welfare check at the residence of William and Shelley Walley, located in Madison Township. When officers arrived, they found the bodies of 78-year-old William Clenet Walley and his 69-year-old wife, Shelley Boone Walley, in their living room.

The Lac qui Parle County Sheriff's Office says an investigation showed that their deaths were the result of a murder-suicide. Authorities said it appears William Walley used a shotgun and shot his wife to death before shooting himself to death.

The incident remains under investigation by the Lac qui Parle County Sheriff's Office with assistance from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
