Sheriff: 1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured After 2 Motorcycles Collide

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A motorcyclist has been killed in a crash with another motorcyclist in Otter Tail County Sunday, according to the county's sheriff's office.

At 4:27 p.m. Sunday, the county dispatch received a report of a vehicle crash with serious injuries at the intersection of County Highway 4 and 233rd Avenue.

According to a preliminary investigation, two motorcycles collided while one motorcyclist attempted to make a left turn from Highway 4. Both riders were alone on their bikes and neither had helmets.

Upon arrival, emergency responders found one rider who had already died due to his injuries. The other motorist was seriously injured and taken to a Detroit Lakes hospital before being airlifted to a hospital in Fargo where his current condition is unknown.

The victims' names are being withheld pending notification of their family.

The crash remains under investigation.
