Sheriff: 1 Dead Following House Fire In Stearns Co.

FREEPORT, Minn. (WCCO) – Officials say one person died early Tuesday morning in a house fire in central Minnesota.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office said fire crews responded to the fire around 3:30 a.m. on the 200 block of 1st Avenue South in Freeport. They found the house completely engulfed in flames.

Three people were in the house when the fire started. Two of them got out and emergency crews treated them for smoke inhalation.

Cecilia Chevaler-Larson, 50, was found dead in the house, the sheriff's office said.

Her body will be taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
