Sheriff: 1 Critical, 1 In Custody In Scott County Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One man is in critical condition and another is in custody after a shooting in Scott County Wednesday night, authorities said.

The Scott County Sheriff's Office received a report of a shooting at about 10:40 p.m. on the 12000 block of Chestnut Boulevard in Louisville Township. The location is near the grounds of the Renaissance Festival. When officers arrived, they located an adult male who had been shot in the neck and was suffering from injuries to his neck and mouth.

The victim was airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center and is in critical condition. A suspect was located near the scene and taken into custody. Authorities said they don't believe the public is at risk.

What led up to the shooting is under investigation, but authorities said it does not appear to be random. The Scott County Sheriff's Office is being assisted in the investigation by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
