Sharp Turnaround Takes Hamline To NCAA D3 Hockey Tourney

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Hamline men's hockey team has completed a remarkable turnaround to reach the NCAA Division III tournament.

The Pipers were placed in the 11-team field on Monday, having received an automatic bid for winning the MIAC tournament. They will play at Wisconsin-Stevens Point in the quarterfinals on March 21, with the winner advancing to the semifinals on March 27 at Ridder Arena on the University of Minnesota campus.

Hamline won a total of three games over the previous two seasons. The Pipers beat No. 1 seed St. Thomas in the MIAC semifinals and No. 2 seed St. Mary's in the championship over the weekend to finish the regular season with a 14-10-4 record.
