Shabazz Muhammad Has Finger Surgery, Out For Season

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Monday that guard/forward Shabazz Muhammad had successful surgery to repair a ruptured ligament on the middle finger of his shooting hand.

Muhammad had the procedure done at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. He is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

Timberwolves officials said the injury happened during practice last Wednesday. Muhammad played 12 minutes, 43 seconds Friday night and scored seven points in Minnesota's win over Phoenix.

In 38 games, including 13 starts, Muhammad averaged 13.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. He also had 10 points and five rebounds in the Rising Stars Challenge during the NBA's All-Star Weekend.
