Sheriff: Sergeant Helps Return Horse Loose On Chisago Co. Freeway

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Chisago County Sheriff's Office patrol sergeant is being credited with helping return a horse that was loose on a freeway Tuesday morning.

The sheriff's office says it took a report of a loose horse on Interstate 35 near Harris, Minnesota. The horse reportedly caused some minor accidents with property damage.

Patrol Sgt. Scott Berg responded and contained the horse, but needed to spend a considerable amount of time to locate the horse's owner. The owner was located with the help of social media, but the owner didn't have the means to retrieve the horse.

Berg owns several horses and his family participates in local rodeos, so he was able to use his personal vehicle and horse trailer to deliver the horse to its owners.

It's unknown exactly how much damage the horse caused.
