Group Hosts Walk For Sexual Assault Awareness Month

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It's Sexual Assault Awareness Month and one group is working to raise awareness by hosting a walk.

According to Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN), about 293,000 people are sexually assaulted in the United States each year. Every 107 seconds, another sexual assault occurs.

The group 360 Communities is working to change that.

On Wednesday, from 7:30 to 9 p.m., the group is hosting a walk on the 7100 block of 147th Street West in Apple Valley.

The walk will feature a survivor who will share her story with those in attendance.

It is free and open to the public.

For more information, or to RSVP for the walk, visit 360 Communities online.
