Severe Weather Moving Through Minnesota, Wisconsin

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A storm system is bringing the threat of torrential rains, large hail and strong winds through Minnesota and Wisconsin.

The National Weather Service says parts of north-central and northeast Minnesota are under a tornado watch until 9 p.m. Saturday. That includes cities like Brainerd, Ely, Duluth and International Falls.

The Twin Cities metro area, parts of southern Minnesota and parts of western Wisconsin are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 11 p.m.

A heat advisory was also in effect for the Twin Cities area, as the heat index approached 100 ahead of the advancing storm system.
