Several Crews Battling Fire At Western MN Pork Plant

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Crews from at least five fire departments are on the scene of a fire at a pork production plant in western Minnesota Wednesday afternoon, according to the Renville County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities received a report of the fire at about 12:30 p.m. at the facility, which is about five miles west of Hector. Hector is about 90 minutes west of the Twin Cities.

Authorities said the building was evacuated and there have been no reports of injuries. A witness at the scene described the fire as "raging." Crews from Hector, Olivia, Bird Island, Buffalo Lake and Fairfax are battling the blaze.
