'Sensitive Santa' Visits Kids At Northtown Mall

BLAINE, Minn. (WCCO) -- A "Sensitive Santa" was at the Northtown Mall in Blaine on Sunday.

He was in what's considered a sensory-friendly environment, making it easier for children with autism and kids with disabilities to relax.

"We have a sensory-friendly environment, lower lights, quieter music and all the sound you hear is the sound of the children in the background," Northtown Mall General Manager Paula Mueller said. "Sometimes the only chance special needs kids get to come and see Santa where the environment is quieter, friendlier and there are no lines."

This is the sixth year for Sensitive Santa and the mall plans on taking appointments again for next year.
