Semi Takes Turn Too Fast, Spills Beets All Over

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The State Patrol says a semi took a turn too fast on a northwestern Minnesota highway and spilled sugar beets all over the road.

The spill happened Tuesday when the semi was travelling east on U.S. Highway 2 and tried to turn onto the Highway 75 bypass near Crookston. The driver, 24-year-old David Shepperson of Arvilla, N.D., was roughed up, but OK, the Crookston Times reports.

The bypass was closed for hours as crews worked to clear the beets and lift the semi back upright.
