Sanford-Brown Colleges To Close

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Sanford-Brown College has announced they will stop accepting new students and will eventually phase out their brick-and-mortar schools in favor of online education.

The Career Education Corporation announced the change Wednesday, saying the company will shift focus to their two online universities: Colorado Technical University and American InterContinental University.

Sanford-Brown has 14 locations in the United States, including locations in Brooklyn Center and Mendota Heights.

CEC says they will "teach out" current students until they graduate. The colleges will gradually discontinue operations and programs, which will take anywhere from 18 months to about three years.
