Sheriff: 2 Wis. Drivers Injured After Striking The Same Deer

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities in Wisconsin say two drivers are in the hospital after a run-in with the same deer Monday morning.

According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, both collisions took place shortly after 6 a.m. on State Road 65 near 770th Avenue in River Falls Township. The first collision occurred when a 2010 Volvo traveling northbound on State Road 65 struck a deer that crossed the roadway.

Then, a second vehicle traveling northbound – a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer – struck the same deer that was in the roadway and lost control. The vehicle entered the ditch where it overturned.

The first driver, identified as 17-year-old Olivia Milano of Ellsworth, Wisconsin, was taken to a nearby hospital with undetermined injuries.

The second driver – 56-year-old Randall Walz also of Ellsworth – was also taken to a nearby hospital with undetermined injuries.
