Rural Northern Iowa City Getting New Exotic Dance Club

NORA SPRINGS, Iowa (AP) -- Downtown Nora Springs will soon be home to an exotic dance club.

Globe Gazette reports that Nora Springs Planning and Zoning approved a recommendation to city council amending the zoning ordinance for Pole Barn Theater, an adult establishment that will feature exotic dancers.

The club won't have a liquor license, but owner Dale Peterson says patrons will be allowed to bring beer and wine. Hard liquor will be prohibited.

Peterson says he wants to open the club by next Friday.

The announcement of the bar's opening has sparked opposition among residents who don't want the business in their community.

Peterson says this is the sixth juice bar he has opened. One of his establishments, The Loft Theater in Corwith, shut down after three months for failure to pay rent.
