Rudolph, Wis. Post Office Preparing For Flurry Of Holiday Packages
RUDOLPH, Wis. (WCCO) -- There are no reindeer games going on at a post office in central Wisconsin this time of year -- they're just too busy.
Up to 20,000 people are expected to mail cards and presents from the small village of Rudolph Saturday. That's right, Rudolph -- just like the reindeer.
The post office is famous for stamping a Rudolph postmark on every package. Christmas gifts are arriving from all over the world-- Just for that special stamp.
"I've already seen packages from China, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Canada," one of the office's postal workers said. "I've seen packages from Europe."
The post office opens at 8:30 Saturday morning. The town is about three hours east of the Twin Cities, about 100 miles past Eau Claire.
