Roseville High School Put On Lockdown After Bank Robbery

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Roseville Area High School was put on lockdown Thursday morning after a suspect fled towards the school following a bank robbery.

Roseville Police say the TCF Bank located inside of Cub Foods near Har Mar Mall was robbed just after 9 a.m. The suspect was last seen fleeing northeast from Har Mar Mall towards the school, which is one mile away.

The school was put into lock-down mode for less than 10 minutes, according to a police liaison officer.

The suspect is still at large. He is described as a black male of medium height and build. He wore a dark-colored North Face jacket that hangs below the waist, jeans, a dark-colored baseball hat and dark tennis shoes with white, wrap-around bumpers. He also had a collapsible blue umbrella which he placed in his pants before the robbery.

He implied to bank employees that he had a weapon, and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Anyone with information is asked to call Roseville Police at 651-792-7008, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. A reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the suspect.
