Roof On Waterpark Collapses In Ottertail, No Injuries

OTTERTAIL, Minn. (AP) — A roof has collapsed at a resort waterpark in western Minnesota.

Otter Tail County sheriff's officials say no one was hurt when the roof gave way about midnight Tuesday at the Thumper Pond Resort. General manager Brad Stevens says the waterpark was closed at the time. Stevens says about 25 to 30 guests at the resort were relocated to another hotel in the area as a precaution.

He says the wood truss structure that houses the waterpark is 8 years old. He says the resort in Ottertail will be closed Wednesday while structural engineers examine the 12,000-square-foot building.

The resort also has a conference center.
