Rollover In Sherburne Co. Seriously Injures 2; Alcohol Detected In Driver

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Alcohol has been detected in a driver who caused a Sherburne County rollover early Monday morning, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The state patrol says the incident occurred Monday at 1:28 a.m. At that time, a Mazda 6 traveling northbound on Highway 169 at Highway 10 in Elk River left the roadway, causing the car to roll.

Both driver and passenger were seriously injured. They were taken to Mercy Hospital.

The driver has been identified as 25-year-old Laura Overson of Elk River. The state patrol says alcohol was detected in her system, but it is unknown if it was a factor in the crash.

The passenger has been identified as 24-year-old Brittany Baker, also of Elk River.
