State Patrol: Alcohol Involved In Fatal Crash Near Northfield

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Minneapolis woman is dead and two others are injured after a crash early Saturday morning in Rice County.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened on the southbound lanes of Interstate 35 at about 12:45 a.m. near Northfield.

A Buick Regal, driven by 22-year-old Callista Boe, lost control and hit the median guard cable.

Boe got out of her car, but was then struck and killed by a Toyota Camry, driven by 28-year-old Faisal Aden of Albert Lea.

The victim was with two passengers, 29-year-old Vincent Laforgia and 35-year-old Jason Erhardt, who are both from Owatonna. Erhardt suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash. Laforgia was not hurt.

Aden also suffered non-life threatening injuries. He was the Toyota's sole passenger.

Investigators say alcohol was detected in Boe's system.

The state patrol is investigating.
