Results Starting To Come In From Tuesday's Election Day

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The results are starting to come in.

It was Election Day in Minnesota Tuesday, and while it was an off-year around 100 school districts had levies that were being voted on.

While some districts still have not reported results,  bond issues passed in Fridley, Farmington, Lakeville, Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan, Richfield and many more. The money will help pay for teacher salaries, utility bills and other basics.

A few cities did have political chairs that needed to be filled.

In St. Paul, five incumbents will keep their seats on the city council but Ward 2 is still too close to call. Rebecca Noecker has a slight edge over Darren Tobolt, but it could be days before it's clear which one of them will replace a retiring Dave Thune.

As usually happens with off years, turnout was low Tuesday.

Only 44,000 out of the more than 1.5 million registered voters, or right around 2.5 percent, voted.
