Local Group Rescues Dogs From Istanbul

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Golden retrievers are finding new homes after traveling a long way for a better life in Minnesota.

A group called Retrieve a Golden of Minnesota rescued a number of dogs from Istanbul.

The organization says Turkey has a large population of stray dogs, and many of them are golden retrievers.

So far this spring they've brought over 16 retrievers, and they're planning on bringing in three more in May.
