Republican Senate Runner Up Candidate Is Ready To Unify For Good Of The GOP

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – On Saturday, Minnesota Republicans endorsed investment banker Mike McFadden to take on DFL Senator Al Franken in the next election in November.

Saint Louis County commissioner Chris Dahlberg, who lost to McFadden, is disappointed but is looking ahead in the campaign to unseat Franken.

"It was a hard fought process, but it was a good process," Dahlberg said.

Dahlberg led for much of the way, but said he would abide by the endorsement process.

"When I went into this I was crystal clear that I would abide by the endorsement and however it went I would fight for the endorsed candidate but I also said I was going to fight hard for it myself," he said.

Franken is expected to win the Democratic endorsement during the party's convention this weekend in Duluth.
