Vikings Bring Back Marcus Sherels, Laquon Treadwell

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Vikings are bringing back a couple familiar faces.

On Tuesday, the team announced the signing of cornerback and return specialist Marcus Sherels and wide receiver Laquon Treadwell.

Treadwell was released before the regular season, and worked out for several teams but was not signed. He's expected to provide depth for a wide receiver squad that has been suffering some injuries.

The nice plays have been few and far between in three seasons for Treadwell. He has 56 NFL catches for 517 yards and one touchdown, while being plagued by drops.

Sherels returns to the Vikings for his ninth NFL season after spending the 2019 offseason with the New Orlean Saints.

Meanwhile, wide receiver Chad Beebe was placed on injured reserve.
