Vikings File Lawsuit Against Wells Fargo Over Signage Near Stadium
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Vikings are suing Wells Fargo in an effort to stop the bank from constructing signs near U.S. Bank Stadium, according to court documents.
The lawsuit, filed Tuesday, concerns Wells Fargo's construction of two 17-story commercial towers adjacent to U.S. Bank Stadium.
According to the Vikings, Wells Fargo is installing mounted and illuminated roof top signs that "do not conform to the parties' agreement in an effort to permanently 'photo bomb' the image of the iconic U.S. Bank Stadium."
The Vikings say the parties' agreement was forged between the team and Wells Fargo in February of 2014.
Wells Fargo responded Wednesday, saying "We are satisfied with the signage package that was approved for our $300 million community investment initiative for our new campus in the historic Downtown East neighborhood."
Among other requests, the Vikings want Wells Fargo prohibited from installing and maintaining the roof top signage, and for the bank to remove any existing and non-conforming roof top signage.
