Report: Two Trains Collide Near Mankato

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Investigators are trying to figure out how two trains possibly collided in the dark early Thursday morning.

Reports say the accident occurred in Mankato and sent 10 cars off the tracks.

Union Pacific said one of its trains hit a Canadian Pacific train that crossed in front of it.

Some of the cars that tipped were carrying grain bound for St. Paul.

The train company says some fuel did leak, but workers are cleaning it up.

No one was hurt in the crash.
